The idea of organizing the European Championships was established in 2018 during a joint medical competition in the Alps. The initiators of the idea were Dr. Mariusz Smolik from Poland and Dr. Luigi Bertinato from Italy, each heads of medical ski associations in their respective countries. One year later in 2019 Dr. Thomas Sinnißbichler from Austria joined us at the second competition in Moena.

The main goal is to bring doctors together once a year in the form of a sports competition on skis over the course of 3 days, making new friends among doctors who are passionate about skiing, having fun with family and to exchange medical experiences at the conference.
Over the past 6 years, the competitions have been held in Poland, Italy and Austria. The annual event has been well attended with a combination of good snow sports and new professional medical relationships.
